    Open Water Swim Policy

All ATC current members are eligible to participate in ATC sponsored open water swims at member's houses.  These are supported swims with bouys and at least one kayak in the water for swimmers' safety.  The swim is held in a public waterway.

These swims will be announced on the ATC Facebook page but participants will be required to do the following:

    • Log into the ATC website for details (address)
    • Sign a liability waiver prior to any participation
    • Guests (non-ATC members), when permitted, will also be required to sign the waiver
Swims are generally held on Sunday evenings with food provided after everyone is done.  These are great training opportunities and all members are encouraged to participate.

    • Bike Doctor Arnold

This ride is intended for the cyclist or triathlete who is both comfortable on a bike and with other cyclists in close proximity. There are several climbs and long straightaways, both of which allow for, and seem to encourage attacks by the various participants. These attacks generally cause several groups to form during the course of the ride. All participants are expected to be able to maintain their respective lines, and not sway into others on the course. Triathletes are welcome to use their tribikes, but should be cautioned to stay off of the aerobars when riding in the more contained and technical areas of the course. Participants in the ride are expected to be able to maintain a 15 mile per hour average.

Wheels down at 6 pm - back in the parking lot by 8 pm.

    • Rock Hall, Maryland

The Waterman’s Triathlons are nestled on the edge of the Eastern Shore of Maryland in picturesque Rock Hall, MD. Just 18 miles from Baltimore “as the fish swims” (put your bike rack on a boat!), Rock Hall is one of the friendliest, most laid back towns anywhere…and is full of history. George Washington took the Annapolis Ferry to Rock Hall nearly ten times before heading to Philly on horseback to work out America’s Independence! The swim takes place in Rock Hall Harbor on the Chesapeake Bay, protecting athletes from any serious wind or chop. The bike course is a triathlete’s dream with beautiful ribbons of pavement and wide shoulders throughout most of the rural course. The run course is pancake flat and takes athletes through the quaint nautically themed neighborhoods and side roads of Rock Hall, MD.

Olympic distance on Saturday and Sprint distance on Sunday.

ATC is dedicated to supporting our fallen heroes and honoring them with a wreath at their gravesite during this holiday season. The goal is to bring more wreaths to the Crownsville Veteran's Cemetery. There are over 20,000 grave sites in the cemetery and in 2017 through local support they were able to cover about 14,500 gravestones. This year we're hoping to cover all the sites.

Come join us on Saturday, October 13th for a morning of fun and exercise.

We've got a couple options to make sure you can enjoy the day!
